The Good: Playoffs still possible

2: After the Giants took a 20-13 lead with 11:34 left in the third quarter, the Commanders’ defense held the Giants to 2 yards of offense on its next four drives (excluding the kneel-down), to send the game to overtime.

21.41: The Heinicke to Terry McLaurin connection is beautiful to watch. McLaurin finished the game with 8 receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown. With Heinicke at quarterback, McLaurin has averaged 21.41 more receiving yards per game (82.57 vs. 61.16) and over 2 more receptions per game (5.71 vs. 3.67), than when Carson Wentz was starting.

166: Heinicke sure knows how to keep things interesting at the end of games. If you combine the stats from the final scoring drive from the Colts game where the Commanders took a 17-16 lead and the 20-20 tying drive from the Giants game, Heinicke’s stat line is 11-for-13 (84.6% completion percentage), 166 passing yards, 1 passing touchdown (below), and 1 rushing touchdown. Despite playing a big factor in the comeback, Scott Turner seemed to turn away from Heinicke in overtime, as the quarterback only attempted one pass.
