9. Scott Turner’s play-calling in overtime was awful.

We can’t be the only fans who thought Washington was going to win the game after Curtis Samuel’s catch and run in overtime. Instead, Scott Turner got conservative and Washington gained three yards before punting the ball away. The final two plays were especially jarring. The Commanders receivers feasted in man coverage and Turner dialed up a bubble screen behind the line of scrimmage.

You can’t have 1st and 10 inside an opponent’s territory and end up punting.

10. Did Taylor Heinicke do enough to keep his job?

If we posed this question before the final drive of regulation, we would’ve said Carson Wentz deserves to start coming out of the bye. Now, we’re not so sure after Heinicke engineered a game-tying touchdown drive in the final two minutes. His fourth-down completion to Curtis Samuel was Patrick Mahomes-esque and the drive itself was reminiscent of his game-winning drive against the Colts.

Heinicke was far from good overall on Sunday, but he willed Washington to overtime by delivering with the game on the line yet again. Not crazy to think Heinicke’s clutch gene bought himself an extra week of starting.
