2. The Reality Is, Aaron Rodgers is coming to town.

The Green Bay Packers have lost back-to-back games to NFL teams from New York. The last time a team lost to the Jets and Giants in subsequent weeks, I’m pretty sure Teddy Roosevelt was governor of New York. But seriously, the Packers look lost, both defensively and offensively at this point.

Davante Adams’ departure and Randall Cobbs’ injury have left Rodgers with zero receivers he seems to trust, and Joe Barry is still the defensive coordinator in Green Bay, so Washington fans know exactly how much to expect out of that unit.

In spite of all of that, you never, ever, ever, discount the ability of Aaron Rodgers to simply carry his team to a win that they desperately need. If Ron Rivera and Jack Del Rio don’t bring their ‘A’ game and clean up the sloppiness related to penalties and poor rotations from the Bears’ game, Rodgers will carve up the Commanders.

Washington must continue to maintain rush and gap discipline, utilize man coverage on the below-average Packers’ receivers, and allow the safeties and linebackers to focus on Rodgers and his dangerous tandem of running backs. I fall firmly in the camp of believing this is more likely to be a get-right game for a scuffling Packers’ team than a momentum-producing game for the ‘ol Burgundy and Gold.
