Carson Wentz is the best quarterback the Commanders have had in over four years.

Wentz gets a lot of hate after having unfavorable exits in Philadelphia and Indianapolis, but he definitely adds a dimension that this offense has sorely been missing. His ability to go downfield should prove to be a blessing with the speed of the receiving options Washington has.

Over the first two preseason games, Wentz was efficient,  but in his six drives the team had four punts, a fumble and only one touchdown. He finished 16-for-22 for 138 yards, showing better accuracy than Ryan Fitzpatrick last preseason. (12-for-21 for 154 yards).

He can definitely do things on the field that Taylor Heinicke was unable to do, fitting the ball in tight windows with accuracy.

However, he also makes bone-headed decisions in pressure situations that can leave points on the board such as taking a sack against the Chiefs, which knocked the team out of field goal range.

Overall, you are getting what is expected with Wentz with super high highs mixed in with some very head-scratching lows, which was similar to what the team had with Kirk Cousins.
