1. Antonio Gibson

Simply put, there’s no Washington player that needs to show up Saturday more than Gibson, who fumbled on his second preseason carry and was relegated to the second-team offense while Brian Robinson ran with the starters.

Not only did Robinson run with the first-team, but he lived up to the hype he garnered coming out of Alabama. Perhaps the biggest takeaway from his debut was how elusive he was in the open field and his comfortability as a pass-catcher.

While Gibson was a stud for Washington last season, he led all running backs with six fumbles (four lost) and is likely on a short leash with Ron Rivera, who said Gibson needs to “run harder,” as opposed to shuffling and going sideways.

We desperately want Gibson to succeed in Washington, but that’s not happening if his fumbling woes persist. The fact it’s already a concern in mid-August is a troubling sign for the third-year back. It would do wonders for his confidence if he bounced back with a strong outing against Kansas City this week.
