3. Donovan Peoples-Jones

Like Johnson, Peoples-Jones is still finding his footing in the NFL, but the former Michigan standout showed real promise down the stretch of 2021. In 14 games, Peoples-Jones produced 34 catches for 597 yards and three scores.

At 6-foot-2 and 204 pounds, Peoples-Jones is a beast in contested-catch situations. Through mid-October of last season, Peoples-Jones led the NFL in contested-catch percentage (9-for-9) and passer rating when targeted at 158.3. Not unfair to say he should’ve been Washington’s preferred target over Gandy-Golden.

In the Commanders’ defense, 31 teams passed on Peoples-Jones several times during the 2020 draft. The former Wolverine lasted until the eighth pick of the sixth round at No. 187 overall. It’s unclear what his ceiling his, but the arrow is pointing up after his promising 2021 and strong start to training camp, where he’s reportedly emerged as one of Deshaun Watson’s favorite targets over the first week.
