1. One-handed TD vs the Packers (2019)

It’d almost be disrespectful to McLaurin if his top play with Washington didn’t come during his breakout rookie campaign. In 14 games, the former Buckeye compiled 58 catches for 919 yards (15.2 YPR) and seven touchdowns. In terms of rookie wideouts, McLaurin ranked first in receptions, second to AJ Brown in yards, second to Brown in yards per catch and tied for second in touchdown grabs.

Part of a loaded WR class that featured studs like Brown, DK Metcalf, Deebo Samuel, Diontae Johnson and Hunter Renfrow, the fact McLaurin ranked so prominently across the rookie leaderboards despite having the worst quarterback situation of his peers proved he was destined to attain star status.

One of those 58 catches came in a Week 14 loss to the Packers with Washington trailing 20-9 late in the fourth quarter. Still giving 100% in garbage time, McLaurin made a ridiculous one-handed catch in the end zone wedged between two Green Bay defenders. Once again, his hand-eye coordination, body control and ball-tracking ability were on full display.

Are we crazy to think McLaurin made that look easier than it should’ve been?

Whatever the case, we cannot wait for what lies ahead for McLaurin and how many more highlight-reel plays he provides.

The Jaylon Smith chase-down might just be our favorite of the bunch. Hopefully Wentz doesn’t put him in a position to make a similar play, but we wouldn’t mind him recreating that one … or any of these for that matter.

Did Commanders get a steal with McLaurin's contract?. dark. Next
