1. Carson Wentz Lacks Chemistry With WRs

It might seem like Commanders reporters have flooded your Twitter timelines with Jahan Dotson content. While that may be true, some if it’s due to the fact Wentz and Dotson have developed a seamless chemistry during OTAs and minicamp.

Another driving force? Wentz has had trouble catching on with his other receivers, including sophomore Dyami Brown, Cam Sims, Dax Milne and Alex Erickson. Pretty much the entire first-ream sans Dotson. It’ be harsh to lump Samuel into that group given he was a limited participant, but it’s definitely a little worrisome Wentz has seemingly only established a rapport with the rookie after weeks of practice.

Luckily, training camp runs for nearly three weeks, so Wentz and his pass-catchers have plenty of time to get on the same page before the regular season.

The return of McLaurin will definitely help everyone feel more comfortable, but Dotson being Wentz’s favorite target in a landslide is not something we expected to happen … at least not this early into the No. 16 overall pick’s career.

No reason to overreact about the other guys, though. Growing pains were always to be expected with a new QB presiding over the offense.

Honorable mentions: Marken Michel continued to impress, Chase Roullier could be ready for training camp and UDFA Tre Walker is a sneaky candidate to make the 53-man roster as the last linebacker.
