Could the Commanders draft a QB on Day 2?

We’ll keep this brief since we already noted this in a separate article, but it bears repeating for anybody who may have missed it. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Commanders have done “a lot of research” on Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral and could look for QB help on Day 2 of the draft.

As things stand, the Commanders’ lone Day 2 pick is in the second round (No. 47 overall), and it’s fair to assume Corral will still be on the board.

Drafting a (potential) future starter over an immediate impact player like Jaquan Brisker, Jalen Pitre, Lewis Cine, John Metchie or a linebacker would split opinions, but it seems like something Washington is considering, so brace yourselves.

Our final rumor entails the receiver position. According to CBS insider Jason La Canfora, the run on WRs could come in the top 10, with Garrett Wilson, Jameson Williams and Drake London all candidates to get taken that early.

We all know the Commanders are enamored with London and are seriously considering drafting him No. 11 overall. If he’s off the board, along with Wilson and Williams, that could push Hamilton outside of the top 10. If Washington doesn’t want to risk waiting on a WR, they could simply take Olave if he’s still there.

Maybe none of these rumors/scenarios come to fruition, but the sheer unpredictability of this draft proves fans should be ready for anything.

The countdown is on.

Commanders should take notice of Jameson Williams praise. dark. Next
