2. 2018 Big Ten Championship/Rose Bowl Victory

Since we couldn’t choose between the 2018 Big Ten Championship and Rose Bowl we figured we’d combine the two. After all, they marked the final two games of Haskins’ Buckeyes career and both performances were outstanding.

In the former game, Ohio State locked horns with Northwestern. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, their defense proved no match for Haskins and the Buckeyes, who were fresh off a 62-39 throttling of Michigan the week prior in which Haskins tied a school record with six touchdown passes.

How did the Ohio State QB respond? By throwing for a casual 499 yards, which broke his own single-game record for the program, and five touchdowns to lead the Buckeyes to a persuasive 45-25 over Northwestern.

Haskins’ 499 passing yards were the most in the history of the Big Ten Title Game and he took home the game’s most valuable player award. If there was any previous doubt that Haskins was a Heisman Trophy finalist, he cemented his case with his performance, even though he lost out to Kyler Murray.

Somehow, the Buckeyes’ embarrassing loss to Purdue (their only defeat of the season) was enough to convince the CFP Invitational Committee to snub Haskins and Ohio State from the College Football Playoff.

Instead, they got a date with the Washington Huskies in the Rose Bowl. As expected, Haskins and Co. asserted their dominance early by jumping out to a 28-3 lead through three quarters. The Huskies put up 20 unanswered points in the fourth to make the score look respectable, but OSU was in cruise control.

It was another day at the office for Haskins, who capped a brilliant collegiate career by finishing 25-of-37 for 251 yards and three touchdowns.

The next stop for Haskins: the NFL.
