player. 58. . Wide Receiver . Washington Commanders. Treylon Burks. 11

This may come as a shocker to some, maybe even a reach at pick No.11 overall. I lean that way as well, but honestly, the fit here within the Scott Turner offense makes way too much sense if the Commanders do indeed fall in love with Arkansas wide receiver Treylon Burks.

We’ve seen in years past — last year to be exact — where the Commanders end up reaching just a tick early to select a prospect that has physical tools and traits that fit what they want to do currently and in the future.

The selection of Burks smells similar to Jamin Davis from last year, except I believe Burks can be an immediate contributor for Washington in 2022.

Burks has some of the surest hands in the class with a drop rate of just 4.4%, which placed him in the upper 75th-percentile among qualified wide receivers last season. In addition, his ability to win against man coverage earned him a grade from Pro Football Focus of 81.1, which earned him another high-level ranking percentile-wise amongst his peers.

Where Burks excels though, is out in space. Burks has unique vision in the open field with the ball in his hands, with play speed that times much faster than his 40-yard dash. He was sixth in the nation among WRs last year in yards after catch per reception, and 13th in total screen yards.

What makes him even more interesting, is that he’s able to do all of these things at 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds!

So while Washington may reach at pick No. 11 with the selection of Treylon Burks, there is a ton to like especially from a tools perspective with the former Razorback. His fit within Scott Turner’s offense works as well, as Burks can stretch the width of the field from all three levels of the passing game.
