1. Amari Cooper

Cooper’s inclusion comes with a caveat given the Cowboys haven’t technically released him yet. However, all signs point to Dallas parting ways with its No. 1 receiver. The money-crunching maneuver would save the team $16 million against the cap and would expedite their quest to get under the cap.

Fans in Dallas are up in arms over the report, and rightly so, as Cooper is an upper-echelon receiver who’s largely responsible for Dak Prescott’s career taking off the way it did after he was acquired via trade from the Raiders in 2018.

Since then, Cooper has been a godsend for the Cowboys’ offense. In total, he appeared in 56 of a possible 58 games, compiling 292 catches for 3,893 yards and 27 touchdowns. Additionally, the four-time Pro Bowler caught over 68% his targets, averaged 9.1 yards per target and 13.3 yards per catch.

We all know Washington tried to sign Cooper during the 2019 offseason, offering the four-time Pro Bowler a contract worth more than what he signed with Dallas. If he’s released, the front office should revisit its interest.

As a 27-year-old who’s incredibly durable, is famous for playing through injury and already has four 1,000-yard seasons under his belt, Cooper should be the Commanders’ top wide receiver target if he’s released by Dallas.
