2. Chris Godwin

"“(Sheil) Kapadia notes that at 26, Godwin’s injury won’t scare teams off from considering annual salaries in the $20 million range. They remember his dynamic work during Tampa Bay’s 2020 Super Bowl run and throughout the past three seasons. Washington’s coaching staff remain believers in Dyami Brown despite a quieter than expected rookie season; the third-round pick finished with 12 receptions. They just may not be inclined to wait on his progress if these top targets are available.”"

A receiver of Godwin’s caliber, who falls somewhere in the top 10-15 range, seems far more realistic for Washington compared to Adams.

While Godwin’s star appeal is one thing, the fact he does most of his damage on underneath routes would make him a perfect sidekick for McLaurin, who flourishes along the boundary and on contested catches.

A former third-round pick back out of Penn State back in 2017, Godwin really didn’t become a household name until his third year in the league.

Since 2019, Godwin has compiled 249 catches for 3,276 yards and 21 touchdowns. You won’t find those numbers in the top five among receivers, but they’re in the top 10-12 range, and that alone is impressive given he’s had to compete with Mike Evans, Antonio Brown and Rob Gronkowski for targets.

With Brown and Gronk shelved by injuries this season, Godwin looked the part of a No. 1 receiver. Through Week 15, the 25-year-old hauled in a career-high 98 catches for over 1,100 yards before a torn ACL ended his season.

Don’t be shocked if Godwin makes a Bucs reunion his top priority, but the two sides were unable to reach an agreement on a long-term deal last offseason, which ultimately led to him being franchise-tagged for 2021.
