1. Michael Gallup

Seeing a potential former Cowboys player in a Washington uniform would be a tough adjustment for some fans, and understandably so. In this case, though, the Commanders desperately need another perimeter receiver to pair with Terry McLaurin, and we truly can’t think of a better fit than Michael Gallup.

Gallup’s contract year was unfortunately marred by injuries. In Week 1, he picked up a calf strain that held him out until Week 9. He appeared in Dallas’ next eight games serving as the No. 3 option alongside Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb, but went down with a torn ACL on a touchdown grab in Week 17 vs Arizona.

While Gallup will still be a hot commodity in free agency, you have to think the knee injury will impact the contract he signs. Could there be a team willing to roll the dice and give him a lucrative multiyear deal? Sure, but if the former third-round pick out of Colorado can be had between $8-12 million, we say go for it.

At 6-foot-1, Gallup isn’t the biggest receiver. However, he’s maybe the most underrated wideout in the NFL when it comes to jump balls and toe-drags. The sickest part is that he makes them look easy. Look no further than this unreal touchdown grab against New Orleans back in Week 13.

If the Commanders pair that guy with the contested-catch savant that is Terry McLaurin, they suddenly have top-flight WR corps.

There are concerns about whether Gallup can be a true WR2, but that can be attributed to CeeDee Lamb’s arrival in 2020. In 2019 as the second option behind Cooper, Gallup tallied 66 catches for 1,107 yards and six touchdowns.

Even after Lamb’s arrival, Gallup still managed 59 catches for 843 yards and five scores in 2020. Like we said, it’s a non-story.

He’s elite and would look great in a Commanders uniform.
