3. Kamren Curl

Death, taxes and Kamren Curl. That’s how the saying goes, right?

If not, we’re officially changing it to that, because Curl just continues to prove his worth on Washington’s defense. Outside of Jonathan Allen and maybe Cole Holcomb, can you name a better performer on the group this year?

We’ll save that debate for another day. For now, though, we have to heap praise on his performance against the Eagles, as Curl finished with 10 tackles and did wonders in terms of limiting Dallas Goedert’s impact.

If you remember, Curl missed the Week 15 clash vs Philly when the Eagles’ tight end ran rampant in Washington’s secondary. In that game, Goedert gobbled up seven catches for a career-high 135 yards and could’ve had A LOT more if not for two drops on wide open passes.

Curl wasn’t at his best in the blowout loss to Dallas, but he was clearly laboring after clearing COVID-19 protocol. On Sunday, it was evident he was back to full-speed and he fully deserved to be on the winning side of things.

The Washington front office has had some bad whiffs in the draft in recent years, but finding Curl in the seventh round needs to be talked about more. Outside of Terry McLaurin, his contract is the biggest bargain on the roster.
