1. San Francisco 49ers

Are the San Francisco 49ers a dark horse candidate to come out of the NFC?

Like Washington, everyone was quick to write off San Francisco after an early-season four-game losing streak. Since then, the 49ers are 5-7 in their last seven games and are one of the few teams in the league that’s yet to be bitten by the COVID bug.

Seriously. They’ve yet to have a player pop positive all season.

Of course, their luck could run out. But if it doesn’t, San Fran will be on a fast-track to the playoffs. Already a leg up on the rest of the pack at 7-6, they have two winnable tilts against the Falcons and Texans remaining.

The 49ers also have road dates with the Titans and Rams left on the schedule, but two wins might be all they need to punch their postseason ticket.

In our eyes, they’re the most complete team on this list. With a healthy Deebo Samuel and George Kittle terrorizing defenses, Jimmy Garoppolo playing with confidence, and Nick Bosa proving to be unblockable on the edge, Kyle Shanahan’s group could do some serious damage in the NFC come playoff time.

Unfortunately, Washington won’t get a crack at them.
