Secondary breakdowns make untimely return: We honestly thought Washington met their secondary breakdown quota for the season. Turns out, we were wrong, because they made an unwelcome return at the end of the first quarter.

A miscommunication between William Jackson III and Bobby McCain on a crossing pattern helped Tyler Lockett break free down the sideline for a 56-yard catch and run. A few plays later, Russell Wilson connected with Gerald Everett from six yards out to give Seattle an early 7-3 lead.

Miscommunications and breakdowns plagued Washington’s defense in the stages of the season. They give teams instant momentum and the Seahawks wasted no time turning it into points.

Why wasn’t Kam Curl in on the play? Might be a good idea to have your best DB in the game, but what do we know?

Curtis Samuel sighting!: Look, it wasn’t much, but at least it was something. Turner dialed up a designed backfield pass for Samuel and the 25-year-old speedster raced for a first down. He got whacked on the play, but popped right back up and got the FedEx Field faithful fired up. Safe to say he’s excited to be back.

Hopefully that groin issue is a thing of the past and Samuel becomes an impact player for Washington down the stretch.

Heinicke struggled throwing downfield: We’ll be the first to admit that Heinicke had been playing excellent football over the last two weeks. However, the 28-year-old was a little off in the accuracy and decision-making departments tonight.

Late in the second quarter, he started down Logan Thomas the entire way on a route and was picked off. The safety didn’t even flinch. He baited Heinicke into the throw. Even the linebacker was in position to make a play.

In the first half, Heinicke went 16-of-21 for just 120 yards. That’s 5.7 yards per completion. Yes, Seattle played surprisingly sound team defense, but there’s no hiding from the fact that Heinicke had an off night from the pocket.

If you prefer not to hold him to a high standard, then he had a very efficient night as a game-manager.

Can’t even celebrate first TD: A couple of bail out penalties by the refs helped to extend Washington’s final drive of the first half, which culminated in the form of a JD McKissic receiving touchdown. The WFT was poised to take a 10-7 lead into the break…until Joey Slye’s extra-point was blocked and return to the end zone.

9-9 ballgame heading into the break. Somehow.

To make matters worse, Slye, who clearly doesn’t sprint regularly, tweaked his hammy trying to chase down Rasheem Green.
