5. The Reality Is, Joey Slye better not get a kick blocked.

Credit to Rivera for not stubbornly sticking with Chris Blewitt after his awful stint as the Washington Football Team kicker. He and many of his apologists still won’t acknowledge that moving on from Hopkins mid-season was a mistake, but at least give him credit for not doubling down on the mistake.

Bringing in Joey Slye is anything but inspiring, but at least he’s managed to get all 13 of his field goal attempts over his offensive line so far this year. But he’s got an odd amount of pressure on him this week, as he needs to make sure he doesn’t get any kicks blocked. If he can manage a clean slate Sunday, that will be a small victory for Rivera.
