1. William Jackson

The play pictured above is a perfect summation of William Jackson’s season. On it, he got burned by Falcons receiver Calvin Ridley for a big gain back in Week 4 … despite getting penalized for pass interference.

Washington’s defense is chock full of underperformers, and Jackson is without question the chancellor of that group.

It seems like whenever the defense has given up a big play this season, Jackson has been at fault, whether he comes up short in coverage or is part of a miscommunication with a fellow DB that preludes said big play.

After a promising debut with the Burgundy and Gold, in which he recorded an interception, it’s been all downhill for Jackson. He owns a 46.5 coverage grade from Pro Football Focus and is allowing a 94.2 passer rating to opposing quarterbacks and a whopping 14.3 yards per completion.

Jackson is also on the books for four missed tackles and six penalties, by far the most on the team. It’s not a stretch to call the former first-round pick one of the biggest defensive busts from the 2021 free agent class.

To make matters worse, Jackson’s been hurt the last two games, so it’s not like he had any momentum heading into the bye, either. Quite frankly, his three-year, $42 million contract has looked a disaster for Washington through six games and he was the only candidate worthy of the top spot on this list.

The other guys haven’t played enough to warrant consideration.
