3. The Reality Is, it’s time for a players’ only meeting.

Jon Allen, Terry McLaurin, Brandon Scherff, Logan Thomas, Deshazor Everett, Tres Way….these men have the respect of the locker room because of their character and because of their play. They need to step up and hold a players-only meeting to discuss the state of the team and to hold the entire roster accountable.

This season is basically already lost from a playoff standpoint, but it can still be a year spent building the locker room and on-field culture that they want long-term. Do they want to be a team that plays a good half most weeks? Or do they want to be a team that fights from whistle to whistle? Do they want to be known for their commercials and their miscues, or for their toughness and energy?

Leaders need to lead. Maybe it’s a group conversation. Maybe it’s individual conversations. Maybe it’s the players asking the coaches to hold certain players accountable for their bad play. But those team captains need to step up and lead, not just by example, but with accountability.
