Washington Football Team: Reality Checks for Week 3 vs Buffalo
By Tim Payne

2. The Reality Is, the rookies are showing signs.
There was a marked difference in Jamin Davis’ demeanor in his Tuesday press conference than in previous interviews over the summer and early in the season.
Jamin Davis says the first couple of weeks he’s had to get used to the speed of the pros. Has been “put on his butt a few times” too and even lined up improperly here or there. Thinks that he’s ready to start playing his brand of football now though pic.twitter.com/zkXh4q7LSj

It sure seems like something has clicked a bit for him. Benjamin St. Juste played more aggressively and decisively in week 2 than he had in week 1. Sam Cosmi didn’t (technically) give up a sack on Sunday after looking quite shaky and even a bit lost in week 1. Dyami Brown made massive strides after recording 1 catch for -2 yards in week one (though I thought he played well in spite of his stats against LA). If those 4 are able to show continued progress in the coming weeks, it will go a long way toward calming my concerns about this team’s ability to build something meaningful toward the end of this season.
Prediction: Davis will have a “wow” moment on Sunday. Cosmi will hold his own against a very good Bills defensive line, and Brown and St. Juste will each continue to earn their spots in the starting lineup. I like this rookie class and I expect some strong results out of them in this important and difficult first “road-game” action of their rookie campaigns.
