The Washington Football Team roster bubble two weeks away from regular season opener

Those final spots aren’t at specific positions. They may include a variety of combinations. One thing is for certain…special teams contributions will be a massive factor in all of them. It ultimately may not be that a certain offensive lineman beats out another for the team. It may be that Washington decides to keep a fourth running back, a seventh WR, or a sixth corner instead of keeping a 10th lineman. The players I see as still truly living on the bubble are:

  • RB Peyton Barber
  • WR Antonio Gandy-Golden
  • WR Dax Milne
  • WR Cam Sims
  • OG Wes Martin
  • OT David Sharpe
  • DL William Bradley-King
  • DL Shaka Toney
  • DL Daniel Wise
  • CB Troy Apke
  • CB Tory McTyer
  • CB Danny Johnson
  • LB Jared Norris
  • LB David Mayo
  • LB Jordan Kunaszyk
  • S Jeremy Reaves
  • S Darrick Forrest

I’ll be watching these players in particular against Baltimore, as they’re the ones who, I believe, have a true chance to play themselves into or out of a spot on the initial 53-man roster.

My best guess is that these are the 10 who make the roster:

  • WR Antonio Gandy-Golden
  • WR Dax Milne
  • OG Wes Martin
  • DL William Bradley-King
  • DL Daniel Wise
  • CB Troy Apke
  • LB Jared Norris
  • LB Jordan Kunaszyk
  • CB Torry McTyer
  • RB Peyton Barber

But it will be fascinating to see who gets playing time, who sits, who stands out, and who folds under the pressure of the last opportunity to make an impression that might win them a roster spot.

This week matters very little to the overall Washington Football Team trajectory for this season…but The Reality Is, for these guys on the bubble….it’s one of the most important weeks of their professional lives.
