2. WR Dax Milne

The penultimate pick of the 2021 NFL Draft has made a name for himself so far in training camp. In a room filled with players that have elite athletic traits, like Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel, Milne does not stand out physically.

He is not overly tall. He also is not overly fast. But he has quick movement skills and he is tough at the catch point.  His routes are also more nuanced than one would expect for a rookie receiver. His skill set as a receiver translates most effectively to the slot.

Milne has also impressed as a punt returner. This is something he will need to prove he can do effectively due to his lack of position flexibility as a receiver. He is rather confined to the slot, so showing he can be a capable punt returner with reliable hands can make all the difference.

The roommate, and favorite target of Zach Wilson in college, is making a push for the final roster spot at wide receiver. His play has already pushed fan favorite Kelvin Harmon out the door. That leaves only a select few receivers left that are legitimately in that competition.

And Milne is one of them.

That is why Milne is one to watch. Can he improve upon a strong first showing? And most importantly, do not walk away from the TV when 84 lines back up as the punt returner.

The seventh-round pick from BYU has no elite physical trait, but he is strong at the catch point and quick. His skillset is eerily similar to that of Trey Quinn, another former seventh-round pick that had a stint in Washington.

Quinn was not overly elusive, especially as a punt returner, but the one thing he had was reliable hands. That is something this fanbase should want out of their return men. Milne has shown that, plus he has the skillset to have more pop as a receiver than Quinn did.

Bottom line? Dax Milne should have your attention.
