2. Temarrick Hemingway

We’d recommend keeping an eye on Temarrick Hemingway’s status, as he’s currently in concussion protocol and is questionable for Friday.

If Hemingway suits up, he simply has to perform better than he did vs New England. The former sixth-round pick struggled with drops, including a crossing route where he could’ve flashed his athleticism and racked up some yards after the catch.

Temarrick Hemingway looked off the pace against the Patriots.

To make matters worse for Hemingway, his route-running was brought into question and he looked outmatched as a blocker, getting beaten on his assignment on multiple occasions. That can’t happen for someone with a 6-foot-5, 245-pound frame.

Luckily for Hemingway, Sammis Reyes is also in concussion protocol and likely won’t have the chance to further separate himself from Hemingway after he looked the part of Logan Thomas’ top backup in Week 1 against the Pats.

Hemingway opened up as the No. 2 tight end on the Football Team’s depth chart. Needless to say he’s losing his grip on that job, if he hasn’t already, so he’ll need to perform for the rest of the preseason if he wants a spot on the final roster.
