No. 1 – Quarterback

2021 – Ryan Fitzpatrick, Taylor Heinicke

2020 – Alex Smith, Dwayne Haskins, Kyle Allen

This one is simple. The 2020 trio of QBs for the Washington Football Team were among the worst in the NFL.

How bad were they?  I look to QBR as one of the more valuable stats to rate QB value. Smith and Haskins didn’t even crack the top 40.  Guys like Nick Foles and Nick Mullens rated higher, as did 2021 projected starter Ryan Fitzpatrick.

In fact, Fitzpatrick came in at No. 5, which ranked higher than players named Brees, Brady, Wilson, Stafford, and Lamar. The bar was set at ineptitude in 2020. Simply finding competent QB play in 2021 will be a huge upgrade.
