Special Teams

Rostered: (3) Tress Way, Dustin Hopkins, Camaron Cheeseman

Tress Way is an elite punter and Dustin Hopkins is serviceable kicker. Hopkins experienced rough patches in 2020, but Ron Rivera stuck with him. It will be interesting to see if Washington brings in competition at some point prior to Week 1 if Hopkins reverts back to struggling.

The only remaining question is if Camaron Cheeseman can remain consistent with his snaps. The young rookie can’t afford many bad snaps, even as a draft choice.

As of right now, these are the only three specialists on the current roster for this early prediction so they make the team. Way is obviously a lock, but the other two have to prove it. Washington can’t afford to lose because of poor execution on special teams in 2021.
