No. 3 – TE Logan Thomas

Before you go and angrily comment, Logan Thomas is not on this list because he is a “bad” player. In fact, in his breakout 2020 season, Thomas proved to be a capable starting NFL tight end. However, that is what makes the 2021 NFL season for Thomas a “prove-it” type of year.

He is entering the last year of his two-year contract with Washington, and he has to prove that his 2020 season was not a fluke. Logan Thomas will have to show that his improved play was not due to being targeted over 100 times due to a unique situation with Washington’s one-dimensional offense.

As more weapons have been added, Thomas will become less of a focus in the week-to-week game plan. Can he still make an impact on the game each week and prove that 2020 was not a one-off year? That is what Logan Thomas has to prove.

If he does, he could be in for a pretty decent payday in the 2022 offseason. Washington does not have much behind Thomas. Fourth-round pick John Bates is expected to slot in as TE2 behind Thomas. After that, there are a bunch of journeymen and a college basketball power forward convert. Slim pickings.

That is what makes the 2021 NFL season for Logan Thomas so huge. If he proves to be a solid option at tight end, he can be locked in as the tight end for years to come for Washington. The quarterback-turned-tight end will become the poster child for that transition. An accomplishment for even the legendary Tim Tebow to aspire to pursue.
