Final analysis

When the Washington Football Team takes the field for the first time in 2021, the roster will look noticeably different compared to when they were last seen leaving FedEx Field.

But the forgotten roster moves though in any year are those players returning from injury. Mentioned here has been Harmon, Collins, and Ioannidis. Others returning from injury in ‘21 include Kyle Allen and Saahdiq Charles.

Charles could be an important piece along the offensive line. He came to the team via the draft as a tackle but was being used as a guard when his injury occurred. This writer is excited to see what Charles can bring to the table if healthy, as his size and mobility are intriguing at both guard and tackle.

Regardless, this piece was not designed to discuss the potential impact of these injured in the ‘20 season. What this piece was designed to do was to look forward with the new season in mind.

The Washington Football Team roster is finally being built the right way. This includes constructing a roster that has legit starters mixed with key depth. Injuries will continue per usual in ’21, but they will also provide opportunities for other players who may have not gotten the chance otherwise.

At the end of the day, training camp, the preseason, and Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers will be here before we knew it. Washington’s new signings, and those returning from injury, will be seeking to establish or re-establish themselves the entire way.
