Washington Football Team Roster: Defensive Tackles

Second verse, same as the first.  The third verse is also a repeat.  You can take the evaluations from the previous two years and insert them here.  The defensive tackles from 2020 will remain the same and one is returning from an injury.  Look for this group to have a very good 2021.

  • Jonathan Allen
  • Daron Payne
  • Matt Ioannidis
  • Tim Settle

Jonathan Allen is likely to receive a new contract prior to training camp or sometime during the preseason.  He is a solid defensive tackle and deserves the pay raise.  Daron Payne is a bulldozer.  An unmovable object.  A force in the middle.

More from Riggo's Rag

Matt Ioannidis returns and he should continue to be one of the best tackles in the league.  Tim Settle is one of the best depth options in the NFL.

There are other defensive tackles on the roster, but these players will be released before the 2021 season begins.  One or two could find their way to the practice squad.  Otherwise, this same foursome will be your 2021 defensive tackles.

2021 Prediction

  • Allen – 58 tackles, five sacks, six tackles for lost yardage, three passes deflected, 12 quarterback hits, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble.
  • Payne – 52 tackles, three sacks, eight tackles for lost yardage, one pass deflected, 6 quarterback hits, two forced fumbles.
  • Ioannidis – 43 tackles, five sacks, nine tackles for lost yardage, 11 quarterback hits, one forced fumble.
  • Settle – 23 tackles, four sacks, five tackles for lost yardage, six quarterback hits, two passes deflected.
