Predicting stats for the Washington Football Team rookies
By Evan Pascal
Pick 51: Texas OT Samuel Cosmi
Prediction: Starter
Predicted Stats:
- 17 games started
The stats aren’t going to be flashy for the humble giant from the hometown of Humble, Texas. However, starting 17 games would prove to be very important. With the departure of veteran lineman Morgan Moses, Cosmi will most likely have to step in right away and be the starting right tackle opposite of Charles Leno Jr. Injuries are something that have plagued the Washington Football Team for far too long. Having a starting tackle not go on the IR would be a huge leap for the team.
Cosmi played 35 games for the University of Texas in his three years at the school. Those are numbers that any coach loves to see. Coaches also love to see the near perfect relative athletic score that Cosmi posted on his pro day (9.99/10). With that being said, Cosmi has some technical work to do if he wants to be a great NFL tackle. He needs to work on his hand placement, as he sometimes plays too high up on the defender. There are also some concerns about a lack of intensity, but that’s surely something Ron Rivera and offensive line coach John Matsko can solve.
The athleticism, versatility, and durability are all things that Washington should be excited about. Cosmi will be a solid player in this league for a long time.
