As of this moment, before teams face any injuries or other turmoil, there are certainly no give-away games on this schedule for the Washington Football Team. The consolation prize of having to go against some of the better young QB’s in the NFL in the first third of the schedule, is to have to face off against the elite of the elite in the second.

Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, and Russell Wilson will undoubtedly be huge obstacles for Washington on their journey for greatness. The three have combined for nine super bowl rings and 31 Pro Bowl selections. Oh by the way, the teams that surround these living legends aren’t too bad, either.

While both sides of the ball must shine for the burgundy and gold throughout the entire gauntlet the schedule presents, the defense in particular will need to carry the team through this difficult stretch in order to attain the three projected wins.

This could be the stretch of games where stud edge defenders Chase Young and Montez Sweat really start to become known as the dynamic duo that they truly are. The best way to control elite quarterback play is to keep hitting them when they drop back to pass. As was the case last year, both defenders have supreme height as well, so tipped passes will work too.

Washington has a chance to set themselves apart from the rest of the division in this third of the schedule. I have them finishing this third with a 3-2 record. To recap, the overall record through 12 weeks will be 6-5 at this point.

The final six games on the schedule may be the most defining for the Washington Football Team on their quest for another NFC East title and hopeful deep playoff run. The rest of the division will be waiting.

“We want Dallas, we want Dallas, we want Dallas.”
