Indianapolis Colts. Kwity Paye. 21. player. 46. . Edge Rusher

The Colts have two major needs that they have to fill this offseason. First of all, they need to properly replace left tackle retired left tackle Anthony Castonzo. Signing Sam Tevi and Julie’n Davenport doesn’t count, as both are better suited as backups.

However, their other big need to fill comes at the edge rush position. The team has a slew of former second-round picks at the position, but they need to add just a bit more firepower to round out that rotation, especially in the wake of veteran Justin Houston’s departure.

At this stage in the draft, Kwity Paye is a great option. The Michigan product is a freakish athlete with a great 6-foot-4, 272-pound frame. In his final 16 games at Michigan, he posted 66 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks.

Paye fits what the Colts look for in their pass rush prospects. He has good size but it’s really his athletic ability that separates him from the pack. He logged a 9.54 relative athletic score with an elite speed grade. Needless to say, Chris Ballard will be licking his chops at Paye’s untapped potential.

If the Colts really want to address the tackle spot with this pick, Sam Cosmi would make the most sense given his athletic build. That said, Paye is surely the better value and the Colts can look for a tackle in the second round of this deep class.
