How can the Washington Football Team leverage the interior defensive line of the 2021 NFL Draft?

One of the weaker positions in the 2021 NFL Draft is the interior defensive line. It has a really quality option at the top in Alabama’s Christian Barmore, and some quality high-potential players like Alim McNeill, Milton Williams, and Osa Odighizuwa. However, other than Barmore, there are not many top-flight options to choose from for teams that need help on the interior of the defensive line.

This is where the Washington Football Team can take advantage. The deepest position for Washington is its interior defensive line. The Washington Football Team has an embarrassment of riches on the interior of its defensive front. Tim Settle is slated to be the fourth in the rotation if you need any context for how good it is.

So what can the Washington Football Team do? The Washington Football Team can use one of their three headlining names — Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne, or Matt Ioannidis — in a trade-up. Or they can try to acquire an additional first-round pick, as the 49ers did with the DeForest Buckner trade to the Colts in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Washington Football Team can do this in an attempt to get the quarterback of the future via a trade-up. It is also worth mentioning, that paying every player on this defensive line will be near impossible, so getting a return, when their value is at its peak, is a smart move.
