Honorable Mentions

  • 2019 NFL Draft: LB Cole Holcomb  (5th Round), CB Jimmy Moreland (7th Round)
  • 2018 NFL Draft: DT Tim Settle (5th Round)
  • 2017 NFL Draft: C Chase Roullier (6th Round)
  • 2015 NFL Draft: S Kyshoen Jarrett (6th Round)
  • 2011 NFL Draft: WR Aldrick Robinson (6th Round)

The above WFT late-round draft picks deserve honorable mentions because performance is or was greater than expectation. For example, Tim Settle could start for most teams on the defensive line. Chase Roullier went from late-round pick to being a starting center who recently got a contract extension. Virginia Tech’s Kyshoen Jarrett flashed considerably in his lone season before suffering a career-ending injury.

When the Washington Football Team starts selecting players in the later rounds, try to keep an open mind. Yes, many will not have long or successful careers. But, some of them will end up becoming core members of the team despite low expectations.
