Round 1

Either:

Christian Darrisaw, Offensive Tackle, Virginia Tech – 6-5, 315

One of the best tackles in the draft this year could be available with the 19th pick and the Washington Football Team shouldn’t hesitate to make this selection. The four-year starter for Virginia Tech is one of the best left tackles in the draft and just his presence would immediately transform Washington’s entire offensive line.  Darrisaw’s skillsets are superb across the board and he could actually add about ten pounds of muscle to his stout frame.

Or:

Zaven Collins, Linebacker, Tulsa – 6-4, 260

Zaven Collins has been rising up the draft boards of most analysts and he is no longer a secret or hidden gem.  The legitimate first-round prospect from Tulsa should be chosen no later than the latter half of round one.  Collins excels in all facets of being a linebacker.  He can reach the quarterback quickly or drop back in coverage and be a terror against tight ends and wide receivers coming over the middle.

Verdict:  If Darrisaw is on the board when Washington picks at 19, they should make the selection quickly and begin preparing for day two of the draft.  If Darrisaw is gone at that juncture, Collins becomes the target.  The Washington Football Team could trade back a few spots and still land Collins.  That move would add some extra draft capital on day two and possibly day three.
