Round 2, Pick 51: WR Dyami Brown, North Carolina

Despite the additions of Curtis Samuel and Adam Humphries in free agency, Washington still has a need at the outside receiver spot opposite of Terry McLaurin. Dyami Brown fills that need for the Washington Football Team.

His good deep speed, solid release against press corners, and advanced ability to track the ball through the air that help him project to be a quality deep threat in the NFL. But Brown did show signs that he can be more than that.

Although he wasn’t asked to do it much, Brown showed an ability to use his speed as a decoy of sorts to his advantage. He would break off his routes just as the defender was sure he was running a go route, and he did some damage in the intermediate areas of the field.

In the NFL, Brown will need to expand his route tree some more but he has a good base to start off with. He’s very good at the routes he did run at North Carolina, so he should only improve the more that he learns at the NFL level.

Brown will get many one-on-one matchups with the Washington Football Team due to the added attention McLaurin and Samuel will receive. His skill set should allow him to produce at a decent clip in the Scott Turner offense, and he would be a seamless fit as a Z receiver for the team.
