Round 2 – UCF FS Richie Grant

This is a common pick for the Washington Football Team in this range. I wanted to mix it up, but free safety does remain a need after free agency. Washington wasn’t able to submit bids for players like Marcus Williams and Justin Simmons, and Anthony Harris recently signed with the Eagles.

On one hand, it’s good that the Washington Football Team didn’t overpay. But the fact remains: They need a surefire center-fielder to compliment Kamren Curl and Landon Collins in the 2021 NFL Draft. At No. 51 overall, Richie Grant fits what Washington needs very well.

The biggest red flag surrounding Grant is that he’ll be a 24-year old rookie. Nevertheless, when a rookie projects to provide an impact right away, the age concerns can be minimized. Grant has the athleticism, instincts, and playmaking ability to be a productive starter on the back end, especially behind Washington’s stalwart defensive line.
