8. LB Jayon Brown

Now, we have two Titans on the list in addition to two Chargers.

The Washington Football Team needs an upgrade at the linebacker spot. With Matt Milano off the market and back in Buffalo, Jayon Brown is the best free-agent available at the position. And it’s largely thanks to one reason.

Brown is a great athlete who has proven to be solid in coverage. The former fifth-round pick out of UCLA does a little bit of everything and had eight pass defenses in each of the last two years. In 2020, he grabbed an interception, made 7.6 tackles per game, and tied a career-high with two forced fumbles.

Brown would have the potential to serve as a middle linebacker for Washington. Or they could try him at all three of the linebacker spots in their 4-3 alignment and see where he best fits in. One thing is certain though: He’s more athletic and better in coverage than Jon Bostic.

Pairing Brown with Cole Holcomb long-term would give Washington a lot of speed and athletic ability at linebacker. It’s fun to imagine what their defense would look like with those athletes manning two of the positions.
