Round 4, Pick 124

Enough exposition. Let’s get back to the board:

  • Ohio State S Shaun Wade
  • Syracuse CB Trill Williams
  • UCLA DT Osa Odighizuwa
  • Tulane DE Cameron Sample
  • Cincinnati S James Wiggins
  • Washington CB Keith Taylor
  • Georgia LB Monty Rice
  • UAB WR Austin Watkins
  • Virginia Tech S Divine Deablo
  • Ole Miss OG Royce Newman
  • Iowa DE Chauncey Golston
  • Central Arkansas CB Robert Rochell

I hope you grabbed enough offense earlier, because the board is super thin there right now. Having said that, the one receiver worth picking here is a very enticing prospect. Austin Watkins is a very complete receiver, and I personally think he has the potential to be much better than his draft stock indicates.

Nevertheless, having already picked a wide receiver, I’m inclined to try and add a safety from the group currently available. Locals may be drawn to Divine Deablo, and with good reason. But I look at James Wiggins and Trill Williams as equally impressive candidates. Shaun Wade has the name recognition, but he was irreconcilably bad last year, and his fit at safety is only a projection.

Since I haven’t picked a cornerback yet, I’m going to go with Trill Williams. He’s a long, athletic defensive back who played on the boundary, in the slot, and at safety with the Orange. That versatility was the deciding factor, and he also has immense physical upside.

My Pick: Syracuse DB Trill Williams
