Washington Football Team: Four Day 2 WR prospects to look for
No. 2- Ole Miss WR Elijah Moore
Junior standout and game-breaker from Ole Miss, Elijah Moore would be one of the best picks for the Washington Football Team on Day 2 of the draft.
Moore stands at 5-foot-9, 185 pounds, but uses every ounce of himself to make plays and attack opposing defenses. His junior season was a culmination of his collegiate career, as he blasted off onto the national scene as one of the best slot receivers coming out of his class.
Moore’s top-notch speed, agility, and quickness, combined with his strong and consistent hands will make him a hot commodity come NFL Draft time in April, and rightfully so.
Throughout his college career, Moore totaled 189 receptions for 2,441 yards and 16 touchdowns. He caught over 71 percent of the passes thrown his way, while only dropping two passes as a freshman and a junior.
In 2020, Moore had a drop rate of just 2.3 percent, while totaling the fourth-most slot catches and yards, while also finishing top ten in missed tackles forced, contested catches, deep catches, deep yards, and screen catches.
His QB loved throwing his way, as QB’s had a passer rating of 125.8 when targeting Moore. Furthermore, while he played all but 38 snaps in the slot this season, Moore is a menace against man coverage, as he graded out with a 90.4 grade when facing this coverage.
The do-it-all, Swiss Army knife of a wideout will prove to have one of the most translatable skill sets and be very impactful from the moment he’s selected in the draft. He would be the team’s starting slot wideout, with a skill set that Turner would take advantage of. His ability to make plays in motion, out of the backfield, and from the slot proves he can contribute from anywhere.
Washington’s offense would be considerably improved from the moment Moore steps on the field, as he can stretch the field with the best of the class. His ability to be sure-handed and a weapon out of the slot gives the Washington Football Team a much-needed safety blanket in the short passing game, yet someone who can stretch the field for guys like Terry McLaurin, Logan Thomas, and the passing game out of the backfield.
The Washington Football Team would have the most versatile weapon in the class, should they select Elijah Moore. His versatility, combined with the insane production at all three levels of the passing game, will prove to be a big boost and a much-needed upgrade at WR for this team’s offense.
