Additional thoughts

The linebacker corps is in great need of an overhaul.  One underperforming linebacker was released immediately after the playoff loss to Tampa Bay and five are soon to be free agents.

The team will be proactive in looking for linebacker talent in free agency and the draft.  New linebackers for the Washington Football Team could number half a dozen in the coming weeks and months.

These Washington Football Team linebackers are very unlikely to be re-signed.

  • Reuben Foster
  • Ryan Anderson
  • Mychal Kendricks
  • Jared Norris

Also, the pool of talented restricted free agent linebackers is very small – just one player.  Will Alexander Johnson of the Broncos be sniped by the Washington Football Team?  It’s not too likely, but it should be monitored for now.

The only mystery that remains is how many new linebackers will be signed via free agency and how many will be drafted.  We’ll get some answers in a few weeks.
