Lower Tier

Sidney Jones

Pardon me if you have heard this story recently.  A former Philadelphia cornerback who struggled during his time for the Eagles went elsewhere (Jacksonville) to revive his career and produced a good season.  Can Sidney Jones continue on the same trajectory as Ronald Darby?  It’s possible, and signing Jones to a modest two or three-year contract is not out of the question.

Gareon Conley

Gareon Conley could be looking at his last chance to create a meaningful career in the NFL.  The former first-round cornerback did not impress in his 2017 rookie season with the Raiders, but he did produce a respectable 2018 campaign.  After under-achieving again in 2019, Conley was traded to the Texans, and it has been a struggle ever since.  After missing the 2020 season with an injury, the most he can hope for is a one-year minimum contract with no signing bonus.  Will the Washington Football Team offer Conley such a contract?

Cameron Sutton

Cameron Sutton was drafted in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, but he was used only sparingly in his first three seasons with the Steelers.  The former Tennessee product was pressed into more playing time in 2020 and Sutton was decent when called upon.  He is likely looking at a one-year “prove it” deal, but there is the potential for upside.

Prediction:  Jones and Sutton are intriguing prospects.  Both players have the potential for steady improvement and Washington could consider either player.
