Upper Tier

Ronald Darby

When the Washington Football Team signed Ronald Darby to a one year “prove-it” deal in 2020, he came with some question marks – mostly due to injuries.  The former Eagle performed well beyond expectations, and now he is a priority free agent that must be re-signed as soon as possible.  Some analysts may question his elite status, but there is no substitute for playing at a high level and returning to the same defensive scheme from the previous year.

William Jackson

Like Ronald Darby, William Jackson is very talented and he has endured a number of injuries.  That includes missing his rookie season with a pectoral injury.  His career has been both solid and something of a struggle, but Jackson is still very talented.  Would the Washington Football Team try to sign a reclamation project at cornerback for the second year in a row?

Shaquill Griffin

Seattle has a dilemma this coming offseason.  They have two cornerbacks that are set to hit free agency – Shaquill Griffin and Quinton Dunbar.  Will the Seahawks let one of them walk?  Griffin is another gifted defensive back that dealt with an injury in 2020, but he doesn’t have the extensive setbacks that have plagued Darby and Jackson.  Griffin probably returns to the Seahawks, but going elsewhere is a possibility.

Prediction:  The Washington Football Team signs Ronald Darby to a four-year, $36M contract with $21M guaranteed and a $12M signing bonus.
