The Washington Football Team will enter the 2021 NFL Draft with eight selections and will look to continue a rebuild that began during the 2020 offseason.

Are you ready for the numerous mock drafts coming your way over the next three months?  The Riggo’s Rag team will bring the heat of many “hot off the press” mocks in the coming weeks.  It will give you the chance to evaluate many players – some of them will be wearing the Burgundy and Gold later this year.

We’re bringing one such mock to you today and it is the first version (from yours truly) of many during what is shaping up to be a very active offseason.

These mocks are not designed to please anyone in particular or make someone angry.  Mocks are generally used as a tool to zero in on prospects that will be relevant to a team’s wants and needs.

In other words, a Washington Football Team mock should be used to reflect what the front office is likely to do during the draft.  Trying to get into the minds of the team’s brain-trust is not easy, but that should be the purpose and objective of every mock draft.

In today’s version, we will be featuring one trade.  Each selection will reflect either the best player available (BPA) or a team need.  It is generally known that Washington will be seeking a quarterback during the offseason and this mock assumes that one has been added in free agency – Sam Darnold for a 2022 fifth-round pick.

Darnold, Kyle Allen, Steven Montez, and Taylor Heinicke is our quarterback lineup for now.  Team needs at this juncture include wide receiver, tight end, offensive tackle, linebacker, and free safety.  Let’s jump right to this mock draft!
