  • Kevin Pierre-Louis, LB – Unknown.
  • Mychal Kendricks, LB – He is very unlikely to return.

  • Dustin Hopkins, K – He is likely to sign a multi-year deal.
  • Nick Sundberg, LS – Sundberg likely re-signs, but competition could be on the way.
  • Reuben Foster, LB – Foster is very unlikely to return.
  • David Sharpe, OT – Unknown.
  • Ryan Anderson, LB – Anderson is very unlikely to be re-signed.

  • Robert Foster, WR – Foster is likely to be tendered.
  • Taylor Heinicke, QB – Unknown.

Exclusive Rights Free Agents

  • Cam Sims, WR – Sims is very likely to be tendered.
  • Kyle Allen, QB – Allen is a strong candidate to receive a second-round tender.

Contract Extensions

  • Chase Roullier, C – Re-signed, 1/2/21.  Four years, $40.5M, $19 guaranteed.

Exercised Option

  • Jonathan Allen, DE – Fifth-year option, 4/27/20.  Allen is likely to play on the 2021 option and receive a new contract in 2022.

Players Waived/Released

  • Shaun Dion Hamilton, LB – Released, Jan. 11, 2021.  Claimed by the Lions on Jan. 12, 2021.

Injured Reserve

  • This section will be updated as needed.

Physically Unable to Perform, NFI, DNR

  • Emanuel Hall, WR
  • Kelvin Harmon, WR

Reserve/COVID

  • This section will be updated as needed.

2021 Dead Money Contracts

  • Dwayne Haskins, $4.25M
  • Derrius Guice, $346K
  • Ross Pierschbacher, $155K
  • Shaun Dion Hamilton, $38K

Re-structure Contract Candidates

  • Alex Smith, QB
  • Landon Collins, LB

Possible Release Candidates

  • Jeremy Reaves, CB – His late-season appearances came after injuries to other players.
  • Wes Martin, OG – After a season to forget, he will likely be released.
  • Jordan Kunaszyk, LB – Late season appearances came after injuries to other players.
  • Alex Smith, QB – The story is inspirational, but it could be time to move on.  Releasing him will bring $14.7M in cap relief in 2021 and $16.7M in 2022.
  • Peyton Barber, RB – His overall impact in 2020 was limited.
  • Troy Apke, FS/ST – The only reason he could stay is special teams duties.
  • David Steinmetz, OT – There are better options in the free-agent market and the draft.
  • Marcus Baugh, TE – Baugh had little to no impact in 2020.
  • Antonio Gandy-Golden, WR – His lofty 2020 draft position probably keeps him on the roster for now.
  • Steven Sims, WR/PR/KR – Sims acquired a nasty case of “fumblitis” in 2020.
  • Geron Christian, OT – He could be out of chances.
  • Bryce Love, RB – A promising career that never materialized due to injuries.
  • Thaddeus Moss, TE – A fan favorite, but has a lot to prove after being injured in 2020.
  • Greg Stroman, CB/PR – It’s difficult to see him on the 2021 roster.
  • Caleb Brantley, DE/DT – Took the opt-out for 2020 and the front office may move on.
  • Josh Harvey-Clemons, LB – Took the opt-out for 2020.  JHC and his two sons have asthma.  Taking the COVID option was probably a wise choice.
  • Jon Bostic, LB – Bostic produced a decent season, but he did have a few subpar games.
