3. C Chase Roullier

For most of the season, the top two offensive linemen were the two best linemen by a considerable amount. The consistency of Chase Roullier, however, has made him very close to the top two. He helps form a really solid center to right tackle combo.

Roullier’s consistency was rewarded the Saturday before the Eagles game. He was signed to a 4-year, $40.1 million extension. $19 million of the contract is guaranteed at signing.

Roullier is clearly as consistent every day in the building as he is every Sunday. Look no further than this quote from Ron Rivera in a press release following Roullier’s extension.

"Chase has been a steady presence and leader on our offensive line all season. He is a great teammate and does everything the right way. We are glad to be able to reward a player who has spent his entire career here. He was well deserving of an extension, and I look forward to continuing to coach him as we work towards sustained success here in Washington."

Roullier is one of the better run blockers in the NFL. His athleticism and strength suit him well in space. He has great footwork combined with some power that makes him pretty dominant as a run blocker.

Brandon Scherff is the known name on this line. You better get to know Chase Roullier too. His pass protection was very solid this year. Very rarely did he allow interior pressure or get pushed back into the quarterback.

Roullier was as solid as they came at center in the NFL this year. He played at an extremely high level and his contract extension is well earned.
