7. OT David Sharpe

David Sharpe was acquired via trade shortly before the season started. At the time he was a last-second add to provide tackle depth. That was a clear weakness of the Washington Football Team roster at the time.

That is exactly what Sharpe was. Depth. He came in when Morgan Moses and Cornelius Lucas missed time on the field due to injury. With that said, Sharpe was not all that impressive.

Against the Seahawks, the coaching staff was forced to put a hampered Morgan Moses back in the game because Sharpe was consistently getting beat. His lateral quickness is never quite good enough to work against finesse rushers.

More from Commanders News

It is easy to beat him with the spin move because he can get flat-footed and then quick edge rushers use a move and beat him. His anchor is solid at times but other times due to lack of balance it leaves room to be desired.

Sharpe is average in the run game. His slow foot speed makes him struggle at times,

Sharpe is, simply put, a backup swing tackle. He can be okay in stints. But I would not ask much more than that.
