Positive 5 – Playoff Game

Offensive coordinator Scott Turner has often caught the wrath of Washington Football Team fans during the 2020 season, but the game he called on Saturday night against a stout Tampa Bay defense was quite good.  The offensive unit was prepared and the team came within a couple of minutes of potentially sending the game into overtime.  Kudos to Turner for having his players ready against the Buccaneers.

Positive 5 – 2020 Season

Tress Way is undervalued, under-appreciated, and under-respected by many analysts across the league.  Apologies for certain liberties on the verbiage, but you get the idea.  As one of the best punters in the NFL over the years, Way has provided the Washington Football Team with good field position and the ability to pin the opponents deep in their own territory time after time.  This fan base respects and appreciates the former Sooner and is glad that he will be around for many seasons ahead.

Negative 5 – Playoff Game

The defensive coaching staff did not have their players fully prepared for the onslaught that awaited them on Saturday evening.  The adjustments that were made at halftime (if there were adjustments) were ineffective.  These coaches needed to have this unit ready and nothing seemed to work.

Negative 5 – 2020 Season

Linebacker Thomas Davis was signed to a one-year contract in the 2020 offseason and he was to be a team leader in the locker room and a positive influence on the field.  To be quite frank, the team did not need his presence after the first half of the season and it certainly didn’t merit a roster spot for the final eight games.  His football impacts were absent this season and he should’ve retired at mid-season.
