Positive 3 – Playoff Game

Terry McLaurin was battling a nagging injury heading into playoffs and while it continued to affect him on Saturday, he managed to haul in six catches on seven targets for 75 yards.  His timely receptions moved the chains and kept two touchdown drives alive.

Positive 3 – 2020 Season

We are continuing with praise for McLaurin and it is well-deserved.  We provided you with some impressive stats that he delivered this season and his impact went beyond the playing field.  The former Ohio State Buckeye became a leader on the sidelines and in the locker room.  If McLaurin remains with the Washington Football Team for his entire career, he could become the all-time team leader in receptions.  Time will tell if he can become the leading receiver in team yardage and touchdowns, but it will be fun to watch the pursuit of these records.

Negative 3 – Playoff Game

The defensive line on Saturday night seemed as if they were completely unprepared to implement a game plan.  The Tampa Bay offensive line pushed them around at will and they were able to control the line of scrimmage throughout the game.  Tampa’s offensive linemen said they were motivated by Washington rookie Chase Young’s words about coming after Tom Brady.  Hopefully, the rookie has learned a valuable lesson.

Negative 3 – 2020 Season

Troy Apke was an NFL Combine star in 2018.  As a free safety, he has been a complete and total bust.  Frankly, it is time to cut ties with the former Penn State player.  Apke continues to occupy a roster slot due to his above-average skills as a special teamer, but his skills are non-existent on defense.  Look for the team to move on from him in the offseason.
