Interesting tidbits from Washington vs. Tampa Bay

4: Tampa receiver Chris Godwin, who is one of the most surehanded receivers in the NFL, had four drops in the game, after having only seven in his four-year career coming into the game.

1-2: This was the first time that Bruce Arians has defeated Ron Rivera in the playoffs, as he previously lost to Rivera and the Panthers in 2014 and 2015. He has a 1-2 playoff record against Rivera.

1: Tampa Bay only beat one playoff team during the season, and finished with a 1-5 record against teams in the playoffs.

January 26, 2003: The last time the Bucs won a playoff game was almost 18 years ago when they won Super Bowl XXXVII. It’s crazy how much of a difference competent quarterback play can make for a team.

77: Coming into today’s game, Taylor Heinicke only had 77 career passing attempts in his NFL career. He finished Saturday’s game with 44, and based on his performance, he should be seeing more playing time in the NFL soon.

1-10: Jack Del Rio has a 1-10 record when facing off against Tom Brady with his defenses giving up 28 touchdowns to only 1 interception.

$10.1 million: Spotrac came through with one of the most interesting stats of the game about Washington’s offense.

Interesting Tidbit: Byron Leftwich was the starting quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars when Jack Del Rio was the head coach. Fast forward to today and Del Rio is the defensive coordinator for Washington and Leftwich is the offensive coordinator for the Buccaneers. Guess the old QB got the best of his former coach.

Regardless of the good, the bad, and the interesting, one thing is for sure, this team is on the right track and I know the fanbase is excited to see what Rivera and the front office have in store.
